Privacy Policy

How HouseFixLibrary handles data, Google AdSense, Cloudflare, browser storage, videos and privacy requests.

Last updated: November 5, 2026.

This policy explains how HouseFixLibrary handles information when you browse this website, use its tools, contact us or submit a question or answer. For privacy requests, use the contact details below.

Information you provide

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include. Community questions, answers and reports request a display name, email address and text. Approved questions, answers and display names are public. Email addresses are kept out of public submissions; reports remain private for moderation. Do not include home addresses, access codes or sensitive personal information in a contribution.

Technical information and security

Website hosting and delivery services process connection information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, request times, browser or device information and error records to deliver pages, prevent abuse and investigate faults. Community forms also use security tokens, spam checks and a salted IP-address hash for submission limits. These rate-limit records expire after one hour and duplicate-submission records after one day; expired database entries may remain until routine cleanup. Hosting and security logs are separate.

Google AdSense and advertising

HouseFixLibrary may display advertising through Google AdSense. When Google ads are served, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, limit repeated ads and detect fraud. Advertising cookies can allow Google and its partners to personalize ads using visits to this website and other websites. Non-personalized ads may still use storage for measurement, frequency limits or fraud prevention.

You can manage Google’s ad personalization through My Ad Center. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and read the Google Privacy Policy. Additional participating vendors and their policies are identified in the advertising consent interface when applicable. YourAdChoices offers choices for participating advertising companies.

Where an advertising consent message or privacy-choice control is provided, use it to select or change your choices. Availability of ads and personalization depends on your location, choices and the advertising configuration. Changing Google’s settings does not replace any consent choices requested on this website. This page itself does not load advertising or set advertising preferences.

Cloudflare: delivery, protection and performance

We use Cloudflare to help deliver and protect the website. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request and traffic-routing information, browser details and security events. Depending on the protections active for a request, security cookies such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance may be used to recognize legitimate traffic or remember a completed security check. Not every visitor receives every cookie.

Cloudflare’s performance beacon also provides page-loading and usage measurements. Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as a service that does not track individuals across its customers’ websites. Its security and network services are separate from that analytics feature. Read Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy, its cookie documentation and its Web Analytics collection documentation.

Google measurement services

Google tags connected through Site Kit may collect page-view, interaction, browser and device information according to the services enabled and applicable consent settings. Google measurement and advertising are distinct purposes. See Google’s linked privacy information for its handling of data. Browser settings and available site consent controls can affect collection; blocking cookies alone may not prevent every network request.

Local storage, checklists and home profiles

The color theme, maintenance checkmarks and saved home profile use this browser’s local storage. The home profile and customized plan do not sync to an account or get submitted to our server by these tools. Use the profile page’s delete control to remove its saved profile and ticks. Clear this website’s browser storage to remove other saved choices. Exported backups contain the details you entered, so keep them private. Appliance serial decoding and calculators operate in the browser; the tools do not save or submit the serial number or calculation inputs.

YouTube and external links

A YouTube player loads only when you choose Load video. Loading it or following Watch on YouTube connects to Google/YouTube and shares connection information under its policies. YouTube may use cookies, request sign-in or apply its own playback restrictions. Other linked websites operate under their own privacy policies.

Why information is used and shared

We use information to operate and secure the site, answer messages, moderate contributions, improve performance and support advertising. Service providers may process information for hosting, security, communications, measurement and advertising. We may disclose information when necessary to meet legal obligations or protect rights and safety. Public contributions can be read, indexed or copied by others.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, relevant bases may include consent for optional tracking, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service or responding to requests, and compliance with legal obligations. Services may process data outside your country, including in the United States; provider policies describe their transfer arrangements.

Retention and your choices

Messages, moderation records and associated contact details are retained for the purpose for which they were supplied and any necessary security, dispute or legal requirements. Published contributions normally remain available while useful to the library, unless removed. Provider logs and backups have separate retention arrangements. Local browser data remains until you delete it or your browser clears it.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal data, restrict processing, object to certain processing, withdraw consent or complain to your data-protection authority. Contact us with enough detail to locate the relevant message or contribution. We may need proportionate identity verification. Do not send identity documents unless specifically requested. Some information may need to be retained for legitimate legal or security reasons.

Children and policy changes

This site is intended for adults maintaining a home. Do not submit children’s personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal data so we can investigate. We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
